Stepping Stones to Healing: Discover and Appreciate Your Design

Updated: Jan 18

Part 4: How does God raise, restore and release us?

Hey Everyone!

We've been on a journey over the past few weeks looking at ways we can allow God to heal us and restore us to our true identity in Him. Last time I shared a testimony of how I finally, at the age of 60, began to truly love myself. This week I want to talk about appreciating the unique way that God has made each one of us.

STEPPING STONE 4: DISCOVER AND APPRECIATE YOUR DESIGN

If you are like me, you may have already taken a number of personality tests and spiritual gift inventories. It can be so interesting to learn how God designed you.

You are like a shining diamond with numerous, unique facets to who you are that reflect aspects of God that only you can reflect. Knowing your design can help you:

  • Refrain from comparing yourself to others.

  • Appreciate how God created you.

  • Focus on developing your strengths.

  • Stir up and use your gifts.

  • Establish healthy boundaries.

  • Grow in wisdom on what to say yes or no to.

  • Increase your fruitfulness, joy, and zest for life!

God has given you specific gifts for you to use to influence the world for good!

A man’s gift makes room for him,

And brings him before great men.” Proverbs 18:16 NKJV

How do you like to express yourself? Do you like to express yourself through:

Writing (poetry, journaling, songwriting, scripts, etc.)

Painting or sketching

Making something (woodworking, crafting, cooking, baking, etc.)

Gardening or home decorating

Dancing

Playing an instrument

Singing

Dramatic arts

Photography

Organizing

Storytelling or teaching

Humor

Or in a totally different way?

Knowing your design can also help you know what kinds of activities build you up. Make time to do what fills you so you can be more joyful and successful in all that you do!

What do you enjoy doing?

What brings you a sense of joy and fun when you do it?

What energizes you?

Celebrate your design and the unique design of others around you!

Blessings!

Michele
