Is your Heart Right?

Let's be honest. There is nothing more exhilarating than to start something new, especially when it comes to relationships. The thought of being with someone who can be your potential life partner and helpmate in this world is an incredible desire. But, as much as God wants to fulfill your heart's desires and bring that special someone in your life, we must make sure that we're the healthiest version of us because the greatest gift you can give your partner is a healed heart.

So, let's ask ourselves these questions.

How is your heart?

How are your mind, body, and soul?

Questions like these allow God to purify and cleanse anything that can potentially hinder your relationship. I remember when my parents were over, and I asked my father, "Dad can I light a fire in my fireplace?" He replied, "Richard, when was the last time you cleaned out your fireplace."

I replied, "I don't think we ever cleaned this fireplace since we bought this home."

He said, "Richard, if you don't cleanse the fireplace, then this fireplace can potentially affect your health."

I replied, "No way, dad."

So, what did I do? I went to google. It's not like I didn't believe my dad; I just wanted to double-check and make sure, LOL. And sure enough, it said that if you don't clean out the fireplace, it will contaminate your breathing and affect your lungs. Friends, I could've started a fire, but the same fire that could have warmed us is also the same fire that would've contaminated and destroyed us because it wasn't cleansed. So, you see, a healthy fire is not always about what wood you put in, but what you need to clean out. The same principle applies when it comes to relationships.

You can start a new relationship, but if your heart isn't right, those impurities will soon affect your new relationship. I love that the bible says in Psalm 51:10 it says, "Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me."

King David made quite a few mistakes in his life like all of us, but even he recognized that if he was going to be the man God called him to be, he needed his heart to be clean. I believe the impact of relationships stems from the cleanliness of our hearts. I also realized that whatever you don't address in your heart will start to manifest in your actions. That's why friends, I want to encourage you to pray and ask God to cleanse your heart. When you pray, God will show you things you might need to address. These past issues might be challenging to address, but know in the end, God wants your heart and relationships to blossom and flourish. Friends, I'll say again that the greatest gift you can give your partner is a healed heart. So why don't you allow God to heal your heart? Because a healthy you will create a healthy us
