Part 2: How does God raise, restore and release us?
Hey Everyone!
Over the next few months, I’m sharing five of the stepping stones that have enabled me to allow God to heal and restore me throughout my life. Last time we talked about the importance of self-awareness. Today I would like to discuss the power of embracing our true identity.
STEPPING STONE 2: EMBRACE YOUR TRUE IDENTITY
You are your Heavenly Father’s beloved Child. Yet many of us struggle at times to fully believe who God says we are.
I have struggled with many negative core beliefs due to my past experiences – lies that God has helped me exchange for the truth of who He says I am. God cares about changing those automatic neurological pathways of thinking in our brains that do not reflect His thoughts!
“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” - 2 Corinthians 10:5 NIV
As you read the following statements, ask yourself if you believe them:
I am God’s chosen, beloved Child.
I am God’s magnificent intention.
I am a chest full of treasures and gems.
I am a masterpiece being painted.
I am a priceless gift given at the perfect time.
I am significant, important, and have immense value.
My intelligence sparks innovation and solutions.
From a whisper to a roar, my voice is worthy of being heard.
My compassion and kindness heal and restore.
I am a beacon of hope, integrity, and justice.
My prayers release angels on assignment.
I soar with the strength of eagles’ wings.
I was born for such a time as this.
My dreams matter to the heart of God.
I am a glorious mystery being revealed.
I have greatness in me that will bless the world.
Ask the Lord to reveal to you what negative lies you still believe about yourself so you can deal with them. There are many Bible verses that describe your identity in Christ that you can meditate on.
Consider this paraphrase of Ephesians 2:10 TPT
“We have become his poetry, a re-created people that will fulfill the destiny he has given each of us, for we are joined to Jesus, the Anointed One.”
This week, let's take one step closer to believing this is true!
Blessings!
Michele
